The Team

José Blanco, Principal

José Blanco brings over 26 years of experience in product management, operations, financial management and direct investments to the Central Valley Fund. Formerly, Mr. Blanco served as a Regional Vice President and Chief Investment Officer at AIG Investment Corporation (AIGIC).

Most recently, he was the CFO for a $500M HR outsourcing company. Additionally, Mr. Blanco has taught graduate level finance courses at Saint Mary’s College of California and has consulted for medium sized financial services, insurance, healthcare and advertising firms in the United States and abroad. He earned his undergraduate degree from Saint Michael’s College in Vermont, an MBA from the Claremont Graduate University, an MS in Economics from the University of Utah, and a PhD in Economics from Utah State University.

Daniel Jessee, Principal

Dan Jessee has over 15 years of private equity investment and fund management experience, most of which is directly related to the types of investments that the Fund proposes to make. Mr. Jessee was a Principal with Stonehenge Partners. Stonehenge currently manages $475 million in committed private mezzanine and equity capital. Formerly, Mr. Jessee was the Vice Chairman of Banc One Capital Markets.

Prior to his tenure at Banc One, he held senior level investment banking positions at Meuse, Rinker, Chapman, Endres & Brooks and Rotan Mosle, Inc. He began his investment banking career in 1978 with E.F. Hutton and Co., Inc., after spending time with Price Waterhouse & Co. Mr. Jessee holds a B.A. degree from Tulane University, an MPA (Health Care Administration) from the City University of New York and an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.

Edward McNulty, Principal

Ed McNulty has over 24 years of corporate finance, investment, turnaround, and general advisory experience. He has held various positions in merchant and investment banking at the Chase Manhattan Bank and was one of the founding partners of the ACI Capital America Fund, LP, a mezzanine debt and equity fund headquartered in New York City. For the last three years, Mr. McNulty was a Managing Director at Pacific Resources, Inc., a Central Valley based corporate advisory firm.

Mr. McNulty has managed a variety of corporate finance transactions, with a primary focus on credit intensive deals. He has acted as lead banker on over $23 billion worth of deals, primarily involving acquisition finance, but also including a substantial amount of recapitalization and restructurings. As a merchant banker, Mr. McNulty focused on middle market companies, providing debt and equity financing, as well as actively working with management teams to grow their businesses. Mr. McNulty holds a B.A. degree from Colgate University and an M.I.A. (Finance) from Columbia University.

Brad Triebsch, Principal

Brad Triebsch has more than a 15-year record of proven entrepreneurial ability in taking companies from concept to profitability. Most recently, Mr. Triebsch served as a public finance investment banker for Westhoff, Cone and Holmstedt. Previously, Mr. Triebsch worked with former Los Angeles Dodger personnel on a successful turn around for a sports medicine company. Prior to that, Mr. Triebsch served as Vice President of Wholesale Strategy for an e-commerce company principally engaged in providing outsourced human resources services to small and mid-sized businesses which was successfully sold to a public company.

Mr. Triebsch was the Co-Founder and President of ConVault Mid-Atlantic, Inc., an Inc 500 environmental manufacturing firm. Early in his career, Mr. Triebsch worked as an institutional salesman for First Chesapeake Capital, a boutique investment bank, and on Capitol Hill as an aide to Majority Whip Tony Coelho, D-CA. Mr. Triebsch is a graduate of Saint Mary’s College of California and attended law school at the University of San Francisco. Mr. Triebsch is a Central Valley native from Turlock and maintains strong business and political ties to the region.

Brian Woodall, Associate

Brian Woodall is an Associate with the Central Valley Fund and is based in Davis. Mr. Woodall has over five years of experience in the areas of financial analysis, consulting, and entrepreneurship.

Prior to joining the Central Valley Fund, Mr. Woodall worked in Grant Thornton’s Global Public Sector consulting group as a Senior Financial Analyst. He also worked for BearingPoint’s Communications and Content group as a Financial Analyst, focusing primarily on the telecom sector. Previously, Mr. Woodall ran an Internet start-up, TheBullseye.com, which focused on global financial markets. Mr. Woodall graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Commerce from the University of Virginia, where he concentrated in both Finance and Accounting. He received his MBA from the Graduate School of Management at the University of California – Davis, concentrating in Technology Management and Entrepreneurship, and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Nick Rich, Associate

Nick Rich has over four years of experience in the area of investment research and analysis. Prior to joining the Central Valley Fund, Mr. Rich was a sell-side fixed income analyst for a small brokerage firm, Morgan Peabody, based in Los Angeles. He was also an MBA intern in the Alternative Investments division of the California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS), working specifically on co-investments (direct investments).

Mr. Rich holds a B.A. in Economics & Philosophy from Claremont McKenna College. He received his MBA from the Graduate School of Management at the University of California – Davis, with a concentration in Finance & Accounting.

Bill Henderson, Special Advisor

Bill Henderson has over 30 years of commercial banking experience, with a strong focus on middle market lending/credit in the California Central Valley. After 3 years at Union Bank, he became a commercial loan officer at Wells Fargo Bank and advanced to Executive Vice President and Division Head in the Central Valley. Headquartered in Fresno, he was responsible for all regional commercial banking offices, covering territory from Bakersfield to the Oregon border, Sonoma, Napa and Imperial counties. In 1997, Mr. Henderson assumed the additional territories of Arizona, Nevada and Utah.

He was responsible for over $9 billion in loan commitments, which included the largest commercial bank ag portfolio in the United States. He had a medium 8-figure loan authority and managed the largest, fastest growing loan portfolio at Wells Fargo. Mr. Henderson led a division of 100+ sales and relationship management team members in strategic initiatives to achieve consistent deal generation and revenue growth year over year. He received his BS from Montana State University and an MS in Systems Management from the University of Southern California. Previously, Mr. Henderson served on the Board of Directors for the Fresno Metropolitan Museum Board and the Fresno State President’s Club. Currently, he serves on the Board for Rombauer Vineyards in St. Helena, CA and serves on the Board and chairs the audit committee for Ruiz Foods in Dinuba, CA.
